SAINT LOUIS/MIDWEST
TURTLE AND TORTOISE SOCIETY
Lynda Cole, Director
The Saint Louis/Midwest Turtle and Tortoise Society (STLTTS) is a federally registered, nonprofit Missouri Corporation, which began in April, 1996.  It consists of individuals sharing a common interest in chelonians (turtles and tortoises) and is dedicated to the preservation of existing wild populations, along with the promotion of better understanding and knowledge of care for those animals already in captivity.

Its purpose is to acquaint the general public with the proper care  of these animals through distribution of or connection to detailed information written by authorities in the field, educational classes, and seminars to help improve the lives and habitats of these animals

The greatest emphasis of the Society is placed on the continuation and preservation of declining wild populations and our activities will be directed towards organized conservation through educational   programs, informational booths and literature.  The Society will also have volunteer committees to help publicize and promote the organization.
